Our sustainability check is light-touch — we’re not here to judge, but to make sure the businesses featured share a genuine commitment to sustainability.
We look for at least one of the following:
🌱 1. Environmentally Friendly Materials or Practices
The product or service uses or promotes:
- Recycled, natural, organic, or upcycled materials
- Plastic-free, biodegradable, or low-waste packaging
- Reduced energy or water use during production
- Repair, reuse, refill, or circular economy models
⚡ 2. Ethical & Responsible Sourcing
Evidence of:
- Fair or transparent supply chains
- Locally made products to reduce transport impact
- Partnerships with verified ethical suppliers
🌍 3. Carbon or Waste Reduction
Businesses that:
- Offer low-carbon alternatives (e.g. EVs, renewable energy, plant-based options)
- Reduce emissions, waste, or pollution
- Offset their footprint through verified initiatives
💚 4. Positive Social or Community Impact
Examples include:
- Supporting community, educational, or environmental projects
- Inclusive hiring, fair pay, or social enterprise models
- Donating a portion of profits to sustainability causes
✅ What the Check Means
- We review listings for clear sustainable aspects (based on your descriptions, website, or provided info).
- If a listing seems unclear, we may contact you for more details.
- Listings that do not meet the minimum sustainability standard may not be approved until updated.
It’s not a certification — it’s a trust signal showing that every listing contributes meaningfully to a greener future.
